The brief for this site was that of contemporary luxury. A regal quality with simple lines that would focus attention on the content and complement the dress designs. We experimented with tones of royal blue and regal red but found these both to be too overpowering, eventually discovering a perfect match with regent green and dark slate. With limited content the client opted for a static page, allowing us to freely position the navigation bar to provide functional use without the overbearing presence of being a top aligned bar. A subtle gradient and noise on the main content window with the addition of the background vine gives the impression of embossed paper and provides the appeareance of a high quality invitation.
To design a site dedicated to the exploits of an online gaming corporation is never going to be an easy feat. Members who are use to pretty graphics and complex user-interfaces are less impressed with the content of a "simple" webpage. Understanding this concept allowed us to further strip down our design and remove functions like navigation bars and search boxes.
Concentrating on streamlining the design and portraying the content, we produced a clean, crisp site that includes transparent layers and sweeping lines. Wrapped in a large image and accompanied by a gallery lightbox the site has a futuristic and sleek feel.
A personal project for Zultan, Zulsrealm is the perfect example of beauty from function. Designed to stream video media, the site has been constucted in a manner that reduces loadtime while providing the feel of a complex construction. Utilising multiple layers the site is built of small rotated and repeated images. Dynamically delivered, the content can be updated, added and removed with little or no effort. As the focus of the site is on watching videos the colour scheme had to allow for extended concentration. As such a dark theme was selected to allow a reduced amount of glare and brightness associated with light pages. The sea blue contrasting colour creates a feeling of calm relaxation and the general grunge of the site, a comfortable, worn in vibe.
